The Order of Malta Companions of Kenya held a fundraiser lunch at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Knightsbridge on Friday 28 July this year, organised by committee member Daphne Fagan. Over 100 people attended to hear Wayne Hennessy-Barrett, Vice Chairman of the Companions of Kenya describe the Order’s work at the Good Samaritan Maternity Hospital in Tangulbei and the Waithaka Special School in Dagoretti. Thanks to funds raised by the Companions of Kenya, infant mortality has markedly reduced, and 23 children with learning disabilities have had their school fees paid which would be otherwise be beyond their families. The lunch was a great success, and further such events are planned for the future.
