Everyone that comes with the Order of Malta to Lourdes has their own reason for doing so, it is a personal and unique journey and at the root of it, is Faith. The simplicity and the beauty of the week in this sacred place is a miracle in itself.
The Order and the Companions were able to distribute, through the good auspices of Fr. Maurizio Binaghi, Comboni Missionary Father, at St. John’s Church in Korogocho, additional mattresses and blankets to 70 selected families in the informal sector of Korogocho
Starting 18 th April 2024, heavy rains and floods wreaked havoc across Kenya, resulting in loss of lives, property and service disruption. Transport, housing, education, health and agriculture were the most affected sectors.
The heavy rains of recent weeks have led to one of Kenya's worst tragedies in recent memory. Hundreds of deaths, destroyed houses and great concern about illness are affecting people.
It was with a joyous heart that after 4 years we were able to celebrate our National Day on Monday, 8th April 2024, the day of the Annunciation. To start off the celebrations and receive blessings for the day, the Embassy held Holy Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Kitisuru, a beautiful and serene suburb with schools and places of worship located northwest of the central business district of Nairobi.
The Order of Malta maternity Theatre has brought a big difference to the community. Prior to it, they were unable to safely operate, so all mothers were referred to the County Hospital which is very far, a distance of over 120 kilometres on terrible roads.
The Companions of the Order of Malta in Kenya have achieved another medical first at the Catholic Mission Hospital in the very remote area of Tangulbei, North West Kenya.
