To mark the 8 th celebration of the World Day of the Poor, under the mentorship of H.E. Archbishop Bert van Megen, the Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya, to whom we are very grateful, our Embassy reached out to the community of the St. John Paul II Catholic Church situated in Mathare, an informal sector of over 1million people located in the heart of Nairobi.

The Companions of Kenya inaugural White Cross Ball was held in Nairobi Kenya on the 13th of April 2024, to raise funds for our Lords the sick and the poor of Kenya. As someone termed the evening, our annual ‘fun raiser’ – The aim was to party with a purpose and that’s exactly what everyone did.
"A Health Facility without safe water and hygiene is not a Health Facility", stated Dr. Maria Neira (WHO), moderating the panel Malteser International organized at this weekend's World Health Summit in Berlin together with WaterAid.
The Nest, as it is known in short, is a centre for the rescue, rehabilitation and reintegration of children in conflict with the law and children of imprisoned mothers. The aim is to socially and economically reintegrate their mothers once they have served their sentence. The centre also runs a safe-house for teenage mothers in witness protection.
Everyone that comes with the Order of Malta to Lourdes has their own reason for doing so, it is a personal and unique journey and at the root of it, is Faith. The simplicity and the beauty of the week in this sacred place is a miracle in itself.
The Order and the Companions were able to distribute, through the good auspices of Fr. Maurizio Binaghi, Comboni Missionary Father, at St. John’s Church in Korogocho, additional mattresses and blankets to 70 selected families in the informal sector of Korogocho
Starting 18 th April 2024, heavy rains and floods wreaked havoc across Kenya, resulting in loss of lives, property and service disruption. Transport, housing, education, health and agriculture were the most affected sectors.
