On 22 September 2026, H.E. Dr. Wilhelm von Trott zu Solz, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Kenya, accompanied by the Embassy’s Diplomatic Secretary, visited Strathmore University in Nairobi for a meeting with the Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Magdalene Dimba and her team.

The meeting took place in a very cordial atmosphere that gave way to promising prospects for future cooperation through a continued dialogue. Discussions focused particularly on establishing a regular exchange through meetings, lectures and discussions on diplomacy, international relations and the practical work of diplomatic missions. Such events could give students an opportunity to engage directly with diplomats and practitioners and gain insights beyond the academic curriculum.

A further focus was placed on involving young people in the humanitarian and social mission of the Order of Malta. Ambassador von Trott invited Strathmore students to learn more about the activities of the Companions of the Order in Kenya and to consider participating in selected projects and initiatives. Such engagement would offer an opportunity to combine academic education with practical service to people in need thanks to appropriate field attachments.

The Embassy looks forward to developing this promising relationship with Strathmore University and, in particular, to engaging with its students who represent the next generation of professionals and leaders in Kenya.
