On March 11, 2025, the Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to Kenya held a vibrant gathering for the Kenyan Companions at the Muthaiga Country Club in Nairobi. The event brought together a dedicated group of volunteers committed to serving the poor, sick, refugees, and marginalized communities while upholding human dignity and providing humanitarian and medical aid to Our Lords the poor and the sick.

The Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Kenya, Dr. Wilhelm von Trott zu Solz, provided an insightful briefing on the Order’s remarkable 1,000-year history. He traced the Order’s journey from its very beginnings in the Holy Land, to its present-day role, headquartered in Rome, continuing its noble mission across the world. Leading the event was the Chairman of the Companions, Mr Sam Mattock. With great enthusiasm and energy, he engaged the audience, encouraging them to remain steadfast in their mission to serve our Lords the sick and the poor and to continue strengthening their Catholic faith through works.

His words of encouragement resonated with the Companions of Kenya, reinforcing their commitment to serve their brothers and sisters in Kenya. A wonderful video about the very foundation of the Companions of Kenya was shown to the audience and it gave an incredible insight as to the mission that lies before us. The gathering served as a platform to inspire and unite the Kenyan Companions, equipping them with a renewed sense of purpose in their dedication to the Order’s cause. The event underscored the importance of collective efforts in making a meaningful impact on communities in need.
