The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs held the 60 th Anniversary Celebrations of Kenya’s Diplomatic Journey in the form of a series of high-level events, inclusive of a keynote address by President William Ruto, running from 26 th November to 7 th December, that captured Kenya’s enduring legacy in peacekeeping, regional leadership and global diplomacy and highlighted its future aspirations.
The activities included: a briefing session to the press; a diplomatic golf tournament; the Ministerial Open Day held at the Ministry’s Car Park where attendees were able to learn more about the services offered by the Ministry; the Opening Ceremony; tree planting; Diaspora Day; lectures at the University of Nairobi; a cross country race; the unveiling of the Ministry’s Historical Photo Gallery which was one of the highlights of the celebrations followed by the launch of the Foreign Service Academy.
Our Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires and Counsellor were among the audience comprising government officials, diplomats, representatives from various sectors and members of the public who attended the celebrations. The overall ambience of the events was one of joviality.
