For the launching of its Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) and Ambulance Dispatch Centre on 13th October 2021, the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) cordially invited the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta, represented by Dr. Franco De Paoli, Chargé d’Affaires and Mr. Samuel Mattock, Diplomatic Secretary and Malteser International, represented by Mr. Martin Schoemburg, Country Coordinator  Kenya & EMS Coordinator Kenya & Uganda to attend the event.

This was also an occasion to express gratitude largely to Malteser International, and to the Embassy of the Order of Malta, for their assistance and support to Kenya’s health sector plans.

Thanks to the generosity of a Swiss benefactor, the Embassy was able to donate 616,000 surgical masks to the NMS and other implementing partners.  These masks are an essential commodity at a time when also Kenya is battling with the Covid 19 pandemic.

All the surgical masks are being distributed to the government, partners, emergency associations and foundations or affiliated health facilities with high demand.  250,000 of the mentioned  surgical masks,  were provided to NMS to be in turn delivered to specific dispensaries, clinics and hospitals within the Nairobi Metropolitan Area
