On Sunday, 16th August, 2020, the Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya, H.E. Archbishop Hubertus Van Megen, paid a visit to Mathare slum where he met the members of the charitable NGO “Mamma Africa Italia Kenya”, coordinated by Reverend Father David Kamau Mbugua, OFM Cap., and their beneficiary community.

On this occasion, in addition to handing out meals prepared by the charitable NGO, the Apostolic Nuncio was also able to distribute to the inhabitants of the poor neighbourhood some blankets donated by the Order of Malta thanks to a gift from British Airways.   The meals and warm blankets were highly appreciated by all during these difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
